Merry Christmas

the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling
and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came
without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled
and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of
something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come
from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more."
This year Christmas came without any baking, very little decorating,
not much shopping, and very few cards were mailed. (And NO sewing or quilting time!) However, as the
Grinch discovered Christmas still came. It came in the form of the
smiles and laughter in my grandkids faces, in the look of their great
grandmother as she smiled at their actions, the look as they all gazed
into the face of baby, Colby, and through the lighting of candles as the
light was passed around the entire church family on Christmas Eve.

Beautifully put. As someone who lost her own MIL in early January, I am just grateful we didn't have to go through a Christmas loss..it's such a busy time and so hard. My heart goes out to you and your love of family. But these little ones light up the page and I know they lifted heavy hearts, as well!
