We were closed due to extreme cold temperature and windchill four days in January. In addition to the cold weather there is an extreme shortage of LP (Propane) to heat homes. Before Christmas we paid $1.17 per gal to fill our tank. Currently the price is over $7.00 if you are able to find it. The dealers are expecting cash on delivery and will only drive to a tank if the tank is down to 10%. Many families have their heat turned down to 60-65 degrees.
This morning I saw a house fire in an older home that was using a space heater to heat the home.
We are all ready for spring.

Even though the snow looks gorgeous the cold also has it's down side.. Hope it warms up soon for you and it is cooler for us.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear the challenges over cold and minimum supplies. I could not imagine those recess times, my friend Jerry hates the cold and would probably croak having to go out in that white stuff! Then again, we had 2 days in January that we were indoors due to poor air quality, because there was a fire in a nearby community.

We just had to replace our furnace. It went out when the temps dropped below zero. Space heaters were our friends for a week!
Our schools have had way too many snow days because of the cold....And kids NEED recess. =)
Though these are beautiful pictures - looking at snow is nice - I hope you're over the worst of it by now. Can't believe propane is that expensive. You're making me appreciate Florida even more!
